Hi,
This is san from Toufee.com! Just a quick note to let you know that after two months of Beta Testing we’re finally ready to unveil the new version of Toufee to you on the first of this May!

Actually, this time we got help from some angels too! (aka angel investors :)
As a result we were able to hire new people that have helped us in making sure that our new version kicks major tail. So, instead of just one or two, we’ve cranked it up a hundred notches this time!

What this means to you is that after 1st May, you will see a difference of Toyota and Ferrari! I Promise! :)

Toufee 2.0 Beta Update (kinda technical)

Hi,
Beta testing for the new version is in full flow. After a l-o-a-o-t of talking Nav and Me have decided that we are going to be rewriting the whole Toufee User Interface for the new version. Our flash code exceeds 70,000 lines which causes the flash compiler to cry and crawl on its knees every time we try to publish a new version. To fix this we are porting our code to MTASC compiler which in our preminilary testing compiles the same under 1 to 1.5 seconds (which is like 100 times faster!) :)

Hey, for those who don't understand this compiler babble the translated version is we're coming up with a super duper version of the toufee's user interface in probably one week. And I promise it'll be all Shiny and new too! :)

Anyway, stay tuned for more updates...
And I hope the beta testers are having fun with Toufee 2.0 ;)

Welcome to the Private Beta!

Hi,

Thank you for showing interest in the Private Pre-Launch of Toufee v2.0! :) We wish to inform you that your account has been successfully upgraded to the new version.

Before we go on to the features and other information about Toufee 2.0, please remember that this code is new and still in beta. What this means to you is that this code is not fully tested and may give you occasional errors. We are working on it but we also expect that you will let us know when this happens so we can find and iron out the bugs quicker. We also hope that being one of the very few members who has been invited to test out our new site, you will extend your kind support in letting us know what you like/dislike about this new version of Toufee (hopefully with suggestions to improve it).

The new version unveils many new and exciting features!
Here is a quick summary:
1. In the members area we have added features like member homepages, collaborative movie making for friends, member profiles, wikis, movie sharing, cloning, Private messaging with Address Books, etc.
2. On the design side we have a brand new homepage for Toufee. Plus we have added directory pages for your published movies, so that your friends can rate and comment on your movies.
3. We have added several automatic flash movie making tools that will output complete flash movies in possibly a single click! Some of the tools include the one click flash movie maker for creating eBay auctions, Flash Ad Banner Makers, Flash Profiles for Myspace, Flash Slideshows, etc.
4. Finally we have added support for Flash Widgets and Introduced the New "After" Effects for your flash movies. Flash widgets are like flash toys that run inside your flash movies, examples include an MP3 Player or Animated Clocks or Flash Guestbooks to name a few. The "After" effects on the other add a lot of dazzle to your images and movies!

Because of the space constraint, it is not possible to discuss these features in detail but you can send an email to newfeatures@aweber.com and subscribe to the mini-course that we've setup detailing all these features (with examples).

Everything isn't live yet but starting tomorrow we will be revealing more and more features that we've added to Toufee 2, everyday until the day of our official launch!

Its coming this Feb.. And Its HUGE!

Coming to you next Monday is the new version of Toufee. And its not just some minor tweaks or features we're talking about...because this time its frickin' huge!! We've actually been quietly working on this for over 3 months now, day and night, night and day - and some more :) Now that its 99% done, its finally coming to you on the 6th. Just Over a Week Left!
Our site crossed the 5,000 member mark in less than 3 months and this initial overwhelming response prompted us to make it even bigger this time! So what's coming to you is something you have never seen in any site before. Something that'll change how you see flash movie making forever on... You know we are dying to tell you guys about all the stuff you'll be able to do with this - but can't because it'll kill the surprise that is waiting for you as the 6th is approaching.
One more thing.. we are looking for a few beta testers. Hi,
Just in case you guys missed the new voiceover is in place! Go to the main page and hit the watch it button. Its done by September Day and I think she has a very nice voice. Kudos to her for doing such a nice job! Oh and btw if you still hear a male voice that means that you're probably running the swf from your browser's cache, and in that case you will need to clear your browser's cache and hit the watch it button on the main page again.

How many of you speak Brazilian Portuguese?

The reason for making this short post is because the number of people on toufee.com who joined from Brazil is getting more and more each day... But because we speak English our site is also in English so not all Brazilians can use our software. So I was wondering if any kind soul would be nice enough to check this translated paragraph of text for me and help out our Brazilian members. I have this translated via Google Language Tools so that is why I need a human to double check it for accuracy. We will go in for professional translation soon but for now I just need something that will make sense in Portuguese so Brazilian people here can make better use of our software too.

additional server

Well, Toufee just got another new home! :)
This morning we added another bigger, faster server to toufee to better accommodate the site - our previous one was getting a little cramped since we've crossed over 4500 members this month! Anyway, this makes sure sure that there are no limits to what you can upload (unlimited pics, movies, sounds like before) and more importantly you should notice a general speed increase in the site's responsiveness.

Please make sure to let us know your thoughts, suggestions as it only helps us to better our site.

Sorry for delay in updates but it was vacation and we just got back from Goa yesterday. I hope you enjoyed your holidays too!

Anyway, before leaving I was working on this Christmas Flash greeting in Toufee yesterday. Just had it completed in the nick of time before leaving! I am no designer, but I hope you like it still because its hand made in Toufee :)

The reason for mentioning it in the Blog is because I took it a step further and made it into this script with which you can personalize this card to send to your friends too: http://www.toufee.com/card.html

But what this really means to you is that now any Toufee movie can be made into a Toufee template. So if you make a Birthday card and instead of say Hello Lauren you put Hello $name (in the text in the movie) then you can have a form just like above with which people can personalize and share it as their own movie. The best part is that the final movie can then be opened inside the Toufee's WYSIWYG editor where the person can edit the card just like you edit your toufee movies! Sorry, if its getting too complicated but I'm very excited about this new feature and wanted to share it!

Its 4th and we're all getting back to business and more new features are coming soon.

I am again feeling really obliged that many of you took the time to pass us so many of these ideas and experience. Thank you again very much again.

P.S. Also please have a look at the icons when you click the Publish button inside the Toufee movie editor. Now you can directly publish your movies to Myspace, Xanga, Friendster, Hi5, etc without doing any HTML or copy-paste! :)

Toufee interface just got a brand new spanking design! our member's tell us that we have come a long way in just one month in terms of design and usability but the fact is that our members are who should be thanked for the most part of it :) The amazing input, reviews and blogs are the only motivating factor for us here to make toufee better everyday.. thanks so much for telling us what you like and don't again.

Anyway, most of you must've noticed the new UI design, wizards, homepage and the 100 other big and small changes but still the biggest one is that We also have a showcase now! surprise! surprise! I think there are already like 12,000 movies there.. so since its hard to hand sort such a number, the ranking currently for now is automatic based on pageviews, no. of slides, text effects, etc. Its not perfect but don't worry, its just temporary and we're working to make it better so that you can soon leave comments, personal ratings, etc..

Also we're getting WAAY too many hits from social networks.. I want to thank the users there who are using our site. For what its worth, since you guys love us so much :D to show our appreciation we have rearranged our list to make your updates first! Be ready for another surprise this monday ;)

Hope everyone is having fun during holidays! Isn't this a great time to send some christmas and new years cards to friends and family? Now if only there was a site where you could create personalized flash cards with your pictures in minutes :D hey! wait a minute.. i think maybe there is! :D lol

toufee has new design

Hi,
We just finished uploading the new design for toufee.com. If the new design does not show up then please hard refresh the toufee's homepage (press CTRL+R).

As of this writing toufee is consistently having at least 50 sign ups a day for which we are very thankful to all our members who are promoting and reviewing our site.

Our updates list is still very long though :) We have over 100 urgent things to take care off which I'll keep updating you off in this blog as they get done.

Your comments, suggestions are most important to us and we always look forward to hearing them, so please keep them coming!

Hello There!
It’s been nearly a month since after the launch of toufee.com. We have been working day and night in the past one month in the hope of making our site more and more useful to you.

If you haven’t checked out your member’s area lately, please do so now.

Here are some of the major updates:

New Improved User Interface: The movie editor looks much better now! Plus it now support for skins for better customization.
Multi-lingual support is now enabled: This includes support for most European languages, accented characters, etc.
Considering that the biggest percentage of our members after USA are from Brazil, Toufee Brazil is now under works at http://toufee.com/?br
Improved image handling. Try to add an image now! Not only the handling is much easier now but every account has a gazillion shared images with tag cloud searching.
Better Flickr Search: import multiple Flickr images with one click.
Improved Sound handling. Thousands of sound effects, music loops, and sound search with Tag cloud searching. Sound search altavista.com, yahoo sounds, etc.
Easier to add videos: Inbuilt video search from youtube, one click import of Google Videos, etc. Support of lot of video formats.
All elements can be rotated and scaled now including images, textboxes and notes.
Improved actionscript code makes your movies and effects run faster regardless on how many videos, images, sounds and effects you add to a movie.

This is just tip of the iceberg. I cannot possibly include all the changes here but if you want to, checkout our past Blog entries for the full list. All this has only been possible based on the feedback we’ve received from members so if there is absolutely anything that you

relocated nameservers

Some users reported that our site was down yesterday. Actually the server wasn't but upon investigation we found out that during development we were using the free dns server at afraid.org. And while it was doing okay during testing i think it was failing to take the load of a production server. We should have done this earlier but i guess it was an oversight on our part to not to have moved the nameservers to a more professional place before launch. Anyway we've moved it to ev1.net now because they can handle plenty of load.

Also please re-send any email you have sent us in the last 24 hours because the nameserver affected our email address also. Thanks.

Just to say thanks to all the praise, feedback and comments we've been receiving from all you guys. For those who have ever doubted the goodness of people, should read our emails as see how nice helpful and genuine all these people are. And guys we're really incorporating all your suggestions in our upcoming versions that we can, I promise you that.

Also regarding the UI design. I know its not upto the mark so last night I spent a little time redesigning it. Here is a new mock up. Its not 100% done but just to give you a preview:

Moved to bigger MediaTemple servers

Hi,
Just a quick update but because of the big overwhelming traffic needs we've been hit with lately, yesterday night we moved all our media files to mediatemple.net Grid Server. Now we have over 1TB of bandwidth to spare. Best part was that this was a seamless upgrade and even Navneet couldn't notice it ;)

The speed looks okay from here but some confirmation would be great.

what a great first day

Hello Guys,
Just to update about our first day and boy was it great! The best part is that Techcrunch had some really good things to say about us here. Thank you Marshall! Not only was it really really encouraging but the insights we recd. from everyone on our day one are just amazing! I mean just look at the comments below alone. Aren't people wonderful!! I feel really happy that there are so so many genuine people out there who want to help. Thank you guys! I can't tell you how much we appreciate it ..really.

Personally I had hoped that if we got a few hundred signups on our first day we'll call it successful launch but this is just getting too good, and now we're really pumped! We did have one recurring complaint about our site design. I guess we spent waaay too much time and effort on the flash engine and surely could have done it better in the aesthetics deptt. Anyway, we've learned our lesson and we're getting a pro-designer to help us out with it. We promise that we'll have it taken care off within this week alone.

We're trying to incorporate as much stuff in Toufee based upon the feedback and support we've recd. and yet still trying to keep everything click and point. Please create an account if you want to receive weekly updates we are making on toufee. Because after the design we plan on adding hundreds of new effects and new tutorials!

Please do let me know if you have any more comments for us here or by support. I can’t stress it enough how much we really need and appreciate these. Please anything you gotta tell us just type a line here. Thanks for everything.

Welcome to the Toufee blog!

Thanks to everyone who has been waiting for us to complete our project. We really believe that project can do wonders to your websites and the internet.

Anyway, we’ve started this blog so we can interact with you, the end users, and learn what you require in Toufee to make it better. Anything that is on your mind, please feel free to share with us!

Ok, we have a lot of stuff planned out for Toufee and we will be adding it very soon but right now we’re working on the tutorials. Don’t worry there is a lot and I mean a lot of stuff you can explore by then.

And please please share anything that you create with Toufee with us. No seriously, I would really personally very much appreciate it if you show me what you’ve been able to do with it.
